Business Unit Manager – Emerging Markets

In this role, you will take ownership of the overall business objectives linked to the strategy for emerging markets in Asia, Africa & Latin America.  With the creation of this business unit, VYNCKE aims to bring more focus, autonomy, and empowerment to the region, supported by transparent agreements with centralized services and expertise centers.

about the job

As Business Unit Manager, you will:

  • Define and implement a growth strategy that aligns with our long term business goals.
  • Build a competent team to manage and execute it. You’ll lead five direct reports (team managers), while indirectly overseeing around 50 Vynckeneers across 4 locations. 
  • Take ownership over P&L, focusing on the top line, project net margin, and controlling fixed costs.
  • You plan and manage budgets and capacity for both the short and long term.
  • Oversee project finances, including contracts, gross margin, and overall financial management.
  • Lead technology development initiatives while assessing and managing associated risks.
  • Facilitate clear and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Be part of the Management team of VYNCKE and report to the CEO.
  • Build an open and constructive cooperation with the Executive Team based in Belgium, centralized services and other VYNCKE units.

About you

We imagine our ideal candidate would have: 

  • Deep local roots (SE-Asia), an international educational background and large regional professional experiences.
  • A major career path in sales or business development, of which minimum10 years in Asia
  • Experience in project business (B2B), of which 5 years in a senior management position in an international environment.
  • Acquired competences such as understanding business factors, integrating complex information, analytical & numerical reasoning, guiding others, generating impact, networking…
  • The ability to work fluently in English, both spoken & written.
