Experienced Commissioning Engineer

As our Experienced Commissioning Engineer, you bring life to our installations by ensuring the successful startup of complex and large-scale energy plants across Europe. You coordinate and execute the commissioning activities on-site, serving as a vital bridge between our client and the project team. By testing, tuning, and monitoring, you make sure the plant performs to the highest standards. Beyond your technical expertise, you will support the growth of the team by providing training and guidance to more junior Vynckeneers. You report to the Project Field Team Manager.

about the job

As Experienced Commissioning Engineer, you will:

  • Coordinate commissioning activities on-site, including progress meetings with all stakeholders. You will be the bridge between our client on-site and the Project Team.
  • Conduct tests for I/O, electrical connections, and upload the control software (PLC, visualization) for the energy plant.
  • Oversee and execute the first fire, the highlight moment of a VYNCKE project.
  • Fine-tune the installation to achieve the required performance targets (stability, power output, and emissions).
  • Monitor boiler performance and share feedback with the project team on executed works and activities.
  • Provide training for customer operators and maintenance teams to ensure a smooth handover.
  • Provide coaching and on-the-job training to more junior Vynckeneers.
  • Coordinate the successful handover of the installation to the customer.

About you

We imagine our ideal candidate would:

  • Hold a master’s degree in electronics or electromechanics, specialized in automation or electrical engineering, or equivalent through experience.
  • Have at least 5 years of on-site international commissioning experience.
  • Be passionate about automation and eager to apply that knowledge hands-on.
  • Bring strong problem-solving skills and enjoy working independently or in a small team.
  • Show autonomy, initiative, and an international mindset to engage with customers.
  • Be willing to travel and work on-site abroad for periods of 2-4 weeks, mainly in Western Europe.
  • Be fluent in English.
